The Meineke Car Care Bowl is a Division I-A post-season college football bowl game sanctioned by NCAA since 2002. The Meineke Car Care Bowl has played ever since its start at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, which has a seating capacity of 73,367 viewers. The bowl is owned by Raycom Sports. It was earlier certified by NCAA as the Queen City Bowl and. in 2002 until 2004, the game changed to Continental Tire Bowl when the title sponsor for the competition became Continental Tire.
The game then shifted to its present name after its corporate sponsor Meineke Car Care Center. Its conference tie-ups are ACC and Big East. The bowl game made a one-year agreement with the US Naval Academy, and an invitation was accepted from the bowl by the navy on November 6, 2006 after qualifying for the game. A Big East team will be selected by the bowl from 2007 to 2009.
The 2007 season matched Wake Forest against Connecticut with a 24-10 record, with Wake Forest winning over Connecticut. The most lopsided game was the match-up between North Carolina State and South Florida in December 31, 2005 with a stunning 14-0 record, the NCS beating the SF. The closest game on record is between Boston College scoring a 25 and beating the Navy by just 1 point.
